Horizon Europe is het belangrijkste onderzoeks- en innovatieprogramma van de Europese Unie. Voor de periode 2021–2027 is er een budget beschikbaar van 95,5 miljard euro. Het prohgramma heeft als doel om wetenschap, technologie en innovatie in Europa te versterken en te koppelen aan maatschappelijke en economische impact.
Horizon Europe financiert samenwerkingsprojecten tussen bedrijven, kennisinstellingen en overheden in heel Europa en richt zich op grote uitdagingen zoals de digitale en groene transitie, gezondheid, klimaat, energie, mobiliteit en veiligheid. Daarnaast zet het in op excellent onderzoek en het concurrentievermogen van de Europese industrie. Het programma stimuleert nadrukkelijk internationale samenwerking, open science en het benutten van onderzoeksresultaten in de praktijk.
Cluster 4 – één van de toepassingsclusters van Horizon Europe – richt zich op strategische digitale technologieën, industriële innovatie en ruimte (Digital – Industry – Space) om de concurrentiekracht, technologische autonomie en digitale transformatie binnen de Europese Unie te versterken. Dit cluster ondersteunt projecten op gebieden zoals AI, datatechnologie, veilige digitale infrastructuren, geavanceerde productieprocessen, digitale producten, en ruimte- en satelliettoepassingen.
31 calls rondom digitale technologieën
Binnen cluster 4 Digital – Industry – Space van het Horizon Europe programma gaan voor 2026-2027 in totaal 31 calls open, specifiek voor het onderdeel Digital.
